Thousands of years ago, a great man named Abraham was born. To test them, God sent an angel to offer the sacrifice of the thing he loved to please God. Obedience to God was the foremost duty for Ibrahim.

He decided to sacrifice his only and dearest son, Isaac. As soon as he extended his hand to knife his son at the sacrifice, the angel stopped him and a sheep was prepared in its place, and that sheep was sacrificed in place of his son.

Tradition of Sacrifice

This tradition was revived by Mohammad Sahib. He ordered his followers to sacrifice some beautiful animals 70 days after Eid ul Fitr. That day came to be celebrated as Eid-ul-Zuha.

On this day Muslims sacrifice animals like sheep, goats, camels, buffalo, etc. For this, no animal should be less than one year old, most people sacrifice goats, so many people also call it “Bakra Eid”.
