Short Speech on Pollution (200 Words)

Good morning everyone present here today.

My name is Arvind Kumar. I am honored to be present before you today. A growing problem facing you today, which has been a matter of concern for many countries for more than a decade, is pollution.

Pollution is the addition of harmful pollutants to the environment. This pollution is of three types which we know as air pollution, water pollution, and soil pollution. As we all know what all these types of pollutants are and what is causing them, so I will keep the speech short and will not take much of anyone’s time, because by this time I think everyone is well aware of it.

In this speech on pollution, today I will try to inform you about our responsibility to save the environment, so first of all, I want to make it clear that we cannot eliminate any type of pollution completely but It can be controlled at most.

It is not only the responsibility of the government, but it is also our responsibility to take appropriate steps to control pollution, such as not throwing household waste into water bodies such as rivers, lakes, and neighborhoods. Therefore it is your sole responsibility to always keep it in its proper place.

The second main cause of pollution is the general vehicles consuming petrol and diesel. It is very important to use electric vehicles instead of petrol and diesel-driven vehicles.

Carpooling and bike pooling options should be considered which will reduce the use of vehicles on the road, and also reduce air pollution.

Now the time has come that all the parents should educate their children about pollution and its bad effect on the environment. Because it inculcates a sense of care and awareness toward the environment in the minds of the children.

In the end, it is the responsibility of all of us to control pollution and save the future, otherwise in the future, we all will have to go through its bad effects.

Thanks for listening.

Long Speech on Pollution (500 Words)

Good morning everyone present here.

Today, I am Arun Kumar is very honored to give a speech on pollution. Through this speech, I will try my best to tell everyone what is pollution, what are its ill effects and how can it be controlled.

Pollution is the presence of harmful substances in the natural environment, which harm all living beings and animals living in the environment and bring about adverse changes. So let us analyze this speech on pollution.

No one can be blamed for the increase in pollution except human beings. Humans are responsible for the tremendous increase in pollution in the environment. As we have developed our way of life, we have started exploiting nature in a big way. Harmful substances released into the atmosphere by artifical factories, industries, and domestic wastes have started contaminating the environment.

As we all know there are three types of pollution which are air, water, and soil pollution. Air pollution is caused by the presence of harmful pollutants and substances in the air. All these harmful gases released by dirt, vehicles, dust, and manufacturing factories are toxic gases.

Vehicles or factories have made our life easy, but it has a very bad effect on the environment. Harmful gases emanating from these cause respiratory diseases like asthma.

These pollutants heat the atmosphere which can deplete the ozone layer allowing ultraviolet rays to enter the Earth’s atmosphere and cause serious health problems.

Another major cause of pollution is water pollution and it occurs when toxic substances mix into water bodies such as lakes, rivers, and oceans.

These toxic substances can be chemical fertilizers or toxic industrial wastes, and sewage water from the agricultural sector. This pollutant generated from various sources is discharged directly into the large water bodies which mix with the drinking water and harm our health. Due to water pollution, the quantity of drinking water is decreasing day by day.

The third main reason is soil pollution. This is the contamination of the soil with toxic pollutants. Toxic substances are chemicals present in fertilizers, pesticides, and industrial chemicals. These toxins contain bacteria, germs, etc. which can be life-threatening to all living organisms.

Any type of pollution cannot be completely eliminated, but it can be controlled. As a community, it is the sole responsibility of all of us to fight pollution by using eco-friendly substances rather than using non-biodegradable substances.

We all should be aware of the small preventive measures which can help in controlling pollution.

Avoid using petrol and diesel vehicles as it causes pollution. Electric cars and bikes can be used instead of these vehicles. Carpooling and bike pooling are great ways too.

Finally, I would like to conclude this speech by saying that every type of pollution has a negative impact on our environment, animals, and human life. That’s why we should take important steps for a better future because together we can control pollution.

Thanks for listening.
