They suffered and Struggled against the powerful and ferocious Britishers, a long and tedious struggle took place. Guru Govind Singh sacrificed his near and dear ones including his entire family for our freedom. Therefore, patriotism is the spirit that sacrifices happiness for the country.

But unfortunately, the people of our country have lost their sense of patriotism today. This is particularly lacking in our leaders who have become selfish and self-centered. Such leaders cannot give proper guidance to the youth who are future helpers of our country. They grab public land and property and ignore all laws and consider themselves above all laws. They claim to be highly religious, moral, and patriotic but there is nothing that is really necessary for a good and noble life.

Despite their mentality, true patriots are still present in the hearts of our youth and were particularly proved by our young brave soldiers during the three wars with Pakistan and with China when they showed the utmost valor and courage. It is very important that the spirit of patriotism be instilled in the minds of young children from the very beginning. The education and relevance of our great cultural heritage, which is above all religious, regional, and caste barriers, must also be taught.

The spirit of patriotism is very high, but its path is difficult. A patriot’s bed is a bed of thorns. The happiness and comfort of the world are sacrificed objects for them. They are happy only after seeing the motherland happy and free. They experience joy only by sacrificing their lives in defense of the motherland. Their job is to keep moving forward in the face of many crises to protect the motherland. It is their greatest duty to commit self-sacrifice at the sacrifice of the nation.

Many institutions organize ceremonies and programs on 15 August and 26 January, patriotic songs are sung in it, and during that time the spirit of patriotism surrounds the entire country. But is it real patriotism? No! Such an atmosphere should always be in general and not only around these special dates. Only then these feelings will emerge in the heart of every citizen forever.

A truly developed country is constructed by true patriots. Patriotism means putting the interests of the country first and then thinking for own. Patriotism can be particularly seen in wartime. It helps in strengthening the nation.
