10 Lines on Bharat Ratna – The country’s highest civilian award ‘Bharat Ratna’ was instituted in the year 1954 and is awarded for exceptional service/supreme effort in any field of human endeavour. This award was first given to Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Sir C.V. Raman, and was awarded to Chakravarti Rajagopalachari in 1954 while Sachin Tendulkar is the first sportsperson and the youngest Bharat Ratna awardee. A maximum of 3 persons are awarded the Bharat Ratna in a year. Bharat Ratna is not taxed and Bharat Ratna recipients enjoy the same tax benefits.
